This week essential maintenance work has been carried out on our driving range enclosure to sustain it's longevity. All decking was scrubbed with a decking cleaner then the whole building power washed inside and out. Once cleaned and dried a larch oil is applied to preserve the wood. Unfortunately this process does take some time and the enclosure needs to close for 3/4 days, the outside bays however will remain open so you can get some practice in. This process is to be scheduled annually.
The new driving range enclosure is
now fully open with all ten bays operational. Wooden bay dividers have been
installed which both look good and meet safety requirements. The area in front
of the enclosure requires to be landscaped and this will be done soon (it has been airbrushed in the images below!). With the
new enclosure and the revamped external area we feel the driving range now
offers a fantastic environment to practice golf and hope to see as many members
as possible taking advantage of this facility.
Work
on our new driving range enclosure began recently and is progressing
well. The new enclosure will contain eight bays plus two bays for teaching. On
completion of the work we will begin improvements to the outside area at the range.
The driving range has re-opened after the enforced closure following the storms last week. We have 10 bays in use down from the previous 14. As there are no dividers between some of the bays the mats have been spaced out to ensure the safety of all users.
Brewin Dolphin have kindly sponsored the new golf balls on the driving range.
